Buster is a game little Jack Russell Terrier. We completed a shoot with him on a blazing hot day and I think we were all feeling the heat, Buster included. He demonstrated this by sensibly choosing the coolest spots to flop down and was not going to settle for anything less.  He is 10 years old and like so many dogs was rarely parted from his ball. Buster came from a rescue centre and was rehomed at one years old. The photo session was at Priory Park in Great Paxton.

It is so heartening to meet so many dogs that are rehomed and given such wonderfully loving homes.

A few months ago I met Meg – A young Collie of 5 months old at the time. Meg is a very well behaved and sociable dog perfectly happy to play with her Kong toy and greet other dogs. She is a Collie Cros with a Labrador so has the best of both breeds. Pure collies are working and herding dogs developed in the Anglo-Scottish border region for herding different types of livestock but mainly sheep.  It was specifically bred for intelligence and obedience and that definitely came through during the shoot. Everybody loves Labs and I was no exception.

Meet Rosie, a seven month old cocker full of life and with never ending energy and a blistering turn of speed of speed. She is also a good lap dog I am informed. The shoot was at Priory Park, Bedford  and despite being early morning she made the acquaintance of many other dogs but all on the best of terms.

A few shots from the shoot are below

I photographed Poppy earlier in the year in Priory park, Bedford. Poppy is a Staffordshire bull terrier, 6 years old, white with brown patches. She was very excitable and gave me a bit of a run for my money. Perhaps a little temperamental with other dogs but a good looking dog albeit a bit camera shy.  The river goes through Priory park and at that time of the year we had to make a few diversions or back doubles due to flooding.
